Ergodriven Introduces a Handset That Makes Standing Desks Smart
Standing desks now automatically move cup and down to promote healthier working.

FORT COLLINS, CO January 30th, 2024

"Far too many people end up using their adjustable height sit-stand desk as a sitting desk." - Ergodriven CEO Kit Perkins

Tempo, Ergodriven's new product launching today, is designed to change that. It's a smart handset replacement for existing standing desks. In just a few minutes, the user can upgrade to a smart desk - one that automatically raises when it's the optimal time for the user to switch to standing.

Ergodriven is launching Tempo today after years of design and validation, including over 60,000 hours installed on the desks of beta testers. Continuous feedback, refinement, and improvement has culminated in a product that users love.

"This product is something I didn't even realize that I badly wanted. It has really made my standing desk so much more enjoyable to work with and I feel like I am finally getting a lot of value out of it. I really like that it is something I can just "set and forget”. I have always wanted to use the standing features of my desk more and this has made it simple to do that in a distraction free way."-MH

"Having it automatically move for me while I'm coding and in the zone is absolutely a game changer."-RN

"When I got Tempo, I realized instantly that that was what was missing from my desk. And I've been in love ever since."-JB

Mobile Companion App

Tempo can also pair with the optional mobile companion app (available soon on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store). Connecting the app allows users to view deeper insights about their standing desk use, and store/retrieve data over longer time periods.

Ergodriven Introduces a New Way to Get Healthy Movement at a Standing Desk
The first-ever anti-fatigue mat designed specifically for standing desks.

CUPERTINO, CA January 6th, 2015

"Flat ground is for wheels, not feet" said Ryan Feeley, co-founder of the health and wellness startup Ergodriven, "thats why we've developed Topo, the anti-fatigue mat with the best ergonomics in the game."

You can spend several hundred dollars on an ergonomic office chair. But with recent reports that sitting is as hazardous as smoking, innovative sit/stand desks and other creative alternatives are being rapidly adopted. Topo is like an ergonomic chair for your feet. It has calculated terrain features that optimally support the body while standing and actually stimulate more healthy movement.

Traditional anti-fatigue mats generate an imperceptible sway of the users body, which encourages subtle micro-movements in the feet, calf, and leg muscles to maintain a stable upright posture. Ergodriven's Topo retains all of these benefits, but by engineering the mat specifically for the modern workplace, they added six calculated terrain features that transform a traditional anti-fatigue mat into a truly ergonomic product. The contoured surfaces provide positional variation and an integrated calf-raise platform to encourage users to exercise their calf muscles between tasks. Calf muscle exercise engages the skeletal-muscle pump which flushes blood against gravity from the leg veins of a standing person. Additionally, Ergodriven gave the patent-pending Topo a low friction bottom surface which allows it to be easily repositioned when the user switches the configuration of a sit/stand desk.

Launch Strategy Eschewing Kickstarter
Although Kickstarter has almost become the default way to introduce a startups first product to the public, Ergodriven decided to launch Topo directly from their website so they could give customers the best possible value. Said co-founder and CEO Kit Perkins, a successful crowdfunding campaign involves an enormous amount of work in product development, validation, promotion, and fulfillment. At the end of the day, Kickstarter doesnt add enough value for our customers to justify 5% higher prices. Were going to be releasing products for a long time, and wed much rather offer the best possible value right from the start.

Learn more about Topo and see the promotional video for the pre-order campaign at http://ergodriven.com/topo.

Eschewing Kickstarter also allowed for some unique possibilities, including a friendly sharing competition between fans. Anyone can get a custom link to the campaign here, sharing leaders are tracked on a live leaderboard, and the most prolific fan promoters are rewarded with prizes at campaign close on February 6th, 2015.
