Fast and Simple
Tempo attaches to the underside of your desk with two screws and plugs into your control box with one simple cable, just like your current handset. In most cases, installation is done in under five minutes.
Even simplest interactions are better on Tempo. Pull up to raise, push down to lower. Dismiss suggested moves with a tap, or send to preset heights automatically. Even the initial setup is a joy.
Stand
Tempo's cruise control mode monitors your presence and position, and automatically moves your desk when it's the best time for you to change it up. So you can do your best work and go home at the end of the day feeling energized.

Tempo is a universal replacement for factory standing desk handsets. Just remove the two screws holding your current handset to the desk, and put Tempo right in its place, typically using the same holes that are already in your desk. Then simply unplug the old handset's ethernet cable and plug in Tempo’s instead! Note: Tempo must be installed on the right side of the desk, so that the user remains in the field of view of the infrared sensor.

No! We spent a lot of time perfecting the user interface of Tempo so that you can set up and enjoy full Cruise Control functionality right on the handset itself. That said, installing the app does unlock some cool additional features. Most notably, you’ll be able to view your historical standing data, and trends, and configure your preferences in more detail.

Yes! In addition to being smart, Tempo is also a very satisfying paddle-style switch. Just reach over and pull up to go up (or push down to go down). If you have presets configured, holding for a second and releasing will send the desk right to your preferred height. We designed Tempo so that you won’t have to look away from your work just to adjust your desk height.

Think of tempo as a friendly personal trainer who gives you a nudge in the right direction, but you are always in control. Tempo will "bump" your desk slightly a few seconds before moving, at which point you always have the option to cancel the move and stay put.

Tempo will never move your desk when you’re not present. In fact, that presence sensing (hardware and software both designed in-house here at Ergodriven) is what really makes Tempo the perfect co-captain, and not just a timer. Tempo only moves when you’re there, for the safety of others in your workspace, your desk, and the stuff on it.

We think Cruise Control is the way of the future (you can stand just the right amount without thinking about it!). But even without automatic moves, Tempo provides an upgraded user experience, with pull up/push down control, support for two users, and usage stats. Installing the app opens even more access to info and customizations.

Yes! You can double click Tempo down to pause (and add time to an existing pause) or double click up to end a pause early. This is great for something like leading a zoom meeting, where you might not want your desk to move.
We are also currently testing a calendar integration or option to schedule “no move” times in the app.
Finally, you can also hold the center button for 3 seconds to lock Tempo (then again for three seconds to unlock it). This is intended to prevent children from moving your desk, but it would prevent any movement until the lock is turned off. -
